Trakt Integration for IPTV — Scrobble Movies and Series in GridStreamr
Connect Trakt.tv to GridStreamr Premium to scrobble movies and series, import watched history for Smart Collection badges, and filter titles you have already seen. TMDB match recommended.
Responsible use
GridStreamr does not provide IPTV channels, VOD, or playlists. You bring your own authorized Xtream Codes or M3U sources. You are responsible for complying with applicable terms, licenses, and local law.
Keeping watch history in sync across IPTV apps usually means manual check-ins or giving up. Trakt.tv integration in GridStreamr Premium connects your Trakt account so movies and series you play can scrobble automatically, show watched badges in Smart Collections, and optionally hide titles you have already finished.
What Trakt adds in GridStreamr
After you connect Trakt:
- Scrobble movies and series as you watch
- Choose movies, series, or both
- Optional Wi‑Fi only scrobbling to save mobile data
- Import watched history for local badges and filters
- Use watched status with Continue Watching for clearer VOD rows
Live TV still uses your EPG and Smart Collections. Trakt targets movies and series, not linear channel guide data.
Premium and TMDB
Trakt features ship with Premium. Matching titles to Trakt uses TMDB IDs when available — set up TMDB enrichment with your free API key so scrobble and history line up with the right movie or show.

Connect Trakt
Typical steps:
- Sign in to GridStreamr with your account
- Open Settings → Trakt
- Tap Connect Trakt and complete the browser OAuth flow
- Enable scrobble for movies and/or series
- Optionally turn on Wi‑Fi only
- Run Import watched so Smart Collections can show watched / in-progress badges
Disconnect anytime from the same Settings screen — tokens stay on your signed-in GridStreamr account for that device session flow.
Watched badges and filters
Imported Trakt history combines with GridStreamr Continue Watching so VOD rows can show:
- Watched when Trakt or local progress marks a title finished
- In progress when you are mid-series or mid-movie
Filter Smart Collection movies and series to exclude watched entries when you want a cleaner “still to watch” browse — especially after large provider refreshes.

None of these replace your IPTV provider. They improve metadata, captions, owned media and history around sources you already connected.

Trakt connect and scrobble are available in current iOS and Android app builds with an active Premium subscription. Behavior on Android TV follows the same account entitlement. Check the changelog for the latest Trakt fixes.
Privacy basics
- OAuth tokens are stored for your GridStreamr user session to call Trakt on your behalf
- Scrobble payloads include the title identifiers Trakt needs (typically TMDB-backed)
- You can disconnect Trakt and turn scrobble off at any time in Settings
GridStreamr does not sell your Trakt history. Review Trakt’s own privacy policy for how they store scrobbles.

Frequently asked questions
Is Trakt integration included in Premium?
Yes. Trakt connect, scrobbling and watched-history import are Premium features. You still need your own free Trakt account — GridStreamr does not provide Trakt accounts.
Do I need TMDB for Trakt?
Matching movies and series to Trakt works best when titles have TMDB IDs from Premium TMDB enrichment. Add your free TMDB API key in Settings → General, then connect Trakt.
What gets scrobbled?
Movies and series (episodes) you watch in GridStreamr, according to the toggles you enable in Settings. You can scrobble movies, series, or both, and optionally limit scrobble traffic to Wi‑Fi only.
Can I hide titles I have already watched?
Yes. Import your Trakt watched history, then filter Smart Collection movies and series to exclude entries marked watched — useful when refreshing large VOD libraries.
Does GridStreamr replace the Trakt app?
No. GridStreamr scrobbles playback into your Trakt account. Use Trakt.tv or the Trakt apps for lists, recommendations and social features.
Does Trakt give me IPTV content?
No. Trakt tracks what you watch. Live TV and VOD still come from Xtream, M3U or Jellyfin sources you connect. GridStreamr does not supply content.
