Frequently asked questions
Do my friends need GridStreamr to view shared playlists?
No. Sharing via @username is the quickest path inside GridStreamr, but you can also copy an M3U Plus URL or Xtream credentials from your Smart Collection share token. Those work in VLC, Kodi, TiviMate and similar players without installing our app.
Is sharing my playlist secure?
Completely. When you share a playlist, GridStreamr creates virtual credentials for the recipient. Your original host, username, and password are never shared.
What are Smart Collections?
Smart Collections let you combine channels, movies and series from multiple Xtream and M3U sources into one curated list. Free allows up to 20 entries; Premium raises the cap to 2,000.
How do I configure EPG for my Smart Collection?
In your Smart Collection settings, go to Manage EPG and select the GridStreamr Global EPG source.
How do I set up parental controls?
Open Settings → Parental Controls and set a 4-digit account PIN. Mark individual Smart Collections as requiring the PIN.
How do I install GridStreamr on Android Auto (AOSP)?
On the head unit, open Download App and enter code 2611137, or open aftv.news/2611137. Premium is required.
How do I set up GridStreamr DVR?
Install from gridstreamr.com/download/dvr, open the dashboard at http://127.0.0.1:8787, then pair from Settings → DVR.
What is the difference between free and premium?
Free includes 1 Xtream account, 1 playlist, and 1 Smart Collection with up to 20 entries. Premium adds unlimited collections, full EPG, TMDB, OpenSubtitles, AI Enhance, TimeShift, home DVR, Android TV and Android Auto.
