Changelog

v2.2.5

July 27, 2026

New features

Your own DVR at home (Premium)

Mobile

Install GridStreamr DVR on a Mac, Windows PC, Linux host, or Docker. Connect from the app on your Wi‑Fi, or control it when you’re away. Recordings stay on your device — not in the cloud. Get installers on the DVR download page; setup steps are in Documentation.

Record what you care about on storage you already own. Premium unlocks pairing, scheduling, and job management.

Record live TV, movies, and series

Mobile

Schedule a show from the TV guide, or save a movie or series episodes to your DVR so you can watch offline. Check progress and your library right in the app.

Build a personal library you can watch anytime — even without a stream.

Easier Settings

Mobile

Settings are grouped into clear sections you can search — appearance, playback, recording, parental controls, and more. Changes save as you go.

Find what you need faster instead of scrolling one long list.

Better TV guide matching

Mobile

Pick a country (or let GridStreamr choose) so channels with the same name get the right local guide. You’ll see clearer cues when a match might be wrong.

Fewer wrong schedules on your Smart Collections.

Pause and rewind live TV

Android TV

On channels that support catch-up, scrub through the current show, jump back, then tap GO LIVE when you’re ready. Works with the remote’s rewind and fast-forward.

Don’t miss a moment just because live TV kept moving. Premium TimeShift when your provider offers catch-up.

Recurring recording schedules

Mobile

Create a DVR rule that repeats — same channel and time each day or week — then edit or delete it from the app. The DVR dashboard manages the same rules on Mac, Windows, or Docker.

Set a series once and keep recording it without tapping Schedule every episode.

Stop a live recording from the player

Mobile

When a live capture is running, manage or stop it from the player instead of hunting for the job in the DVR library.

End a recording the moment you’ve got what you need.

Recent recordings on Home

Mobile

A Home section lists what just finished recording. Turn the section on or off in Settings.

Open last night’s capture without digging through the DVR library.

Update DVR from the app

Mobile

Check for a DVR update on the paired Mac, Windows PC, or Docker host and apply it from GridStreamr. The dashboard also shows when an update is waiting.

Keep the recorder current without a separate install ritual every time.

See which Smart Collections an item belongs to

Mobile

On Xtream and M3U titles, open membership to see every Smart Collection that already includes that channel, movie, or series. Sort collections by release date or first/last air date, and move a multi-select to the top or bottom of the list.

Avoid duplicate adds, and keep a large collection in the order you actually watch.

Jellyfin Continue Watching and Next Up

Mobile

Choose whether Home shows Jellyfin Continue Watching and Next Up, independently of the rest of your Jellyfin library.

Keep the home screen focused on what you still want to finish.

Improvements

  • Skip words in EPG alert patterns so “football” can notify without matching a highlight show you don’t want.
  • Select several recordings and delete them in one step. Recording rows can show artwork, resume position, and richer title metadata.
  • DVR schedules respect programme time zones, and the channel picker can filter by category, country, quality, and language.
  • Parental PIN hiding now applies to Continue Watching and the DVR channel picker, not only the main library lists.
  • Clearer guidance when DVR isn’t paired or the library isn’t ready yet.
  • Home screen widgets no longer error when the Smart Collection they were set up with has been removed.
  • Catch-up lands closer to the time you expect, with a progress bar that’s easier to read and control with the remote.
  • Ready for the latest Android requirements on Google Play.
  • Other small polish.
